Magpies head Bowyer chase as Pool line up Beattie and Kewell

LEE BOWYER’S advisors yesterday confirmed the former West Ham and Leeds midfielder is in talks with “a couple of clubs” as the race to secure his services hots up.

Newcastle have refused to comment on reports in the north-east which claimed the 26-year-old has agreed a five-year contract at St James’ Park.

But a spokesman for the Skillequal company which represents the player admitted talks are underway but would not comment further.
