EVERTON have rejected a £20m (€30m) offer from Premiership rivals Newcastle for teenage striker Wayne Rooney.

The England striker has been linked with a number of clubs but Newcastle yesterday became the first club to make a concrete bid for the striker - and were immediately turned down.

Manager David Moyes has lost 17 players since the last transfer deadline in March and has ruled out any chance of an imminent departure for the 18-year-old.
