Hendrie credits O’Leary with rescuing career

MIDFIELDER Lee Hendrie believes manager David O’Leary helped save his Aston Villa career.

Hendrie, a former youth team player, lost his place under previous manager Graham Taylor and felt a Villa Park exit was imminent.

However, the arrival of former Leeds boss O’Leary turned around his fortunes and the 27-year-old could not be more grateful.
