FA to test players for EPO ‘in near future’

THE FA announced yesterday they will introduce a test for the banned drug erythropoietin (EPO) “in the near future”.

The comments come after Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger expressed concern that some of his overseas players displayed symptoms of EPO use when they joined the club.

The FA have given no timescale for introducing the urine test for EPO but are keen to tackle drugs in football.
