Stokes on the double

ANTHONY STOKES’ progress at Arsenal continued with two more goals for the Gunners’ reserves on Monday night in their 5-0 rout of Norwich.

The Republic of Ireland under age star was on target as early as the 3rd minute and rounded off the scoring nine minutes from time.

Arsenal are playing Stokes in a more withdrawn midfield role, with manager Neil Banfield explaining: “Anthony is coming along well. Obviously it’s a new position for him in midfield, whereas he was a striker. He’s working really hard for the team and I think he’s coming to grips with it so we’ll see how he develops over the next few months.”
