Sutton may only miss one game

Celtic striker Chris Sutton faces an anxious wait to discover the extent of a hamstring injury - but Martin O‘Neill believes there is no reason to push the panic button.

Sutton aggravated his hamstring during Saturday‘s League game against Dundee United after replacing John Hartson.

The victory propelled Celtic to the top of the table and fans feared the injury could sideline Sutton for crucial games in the run in.

Sutton underwent a scan yesterday but he has assured O‘Neill he does not expect the results to reveal any real damage and is hopeful to return to action in the next few weeks..

This week’s international games mean that the only SPL clash Sutton is likely to miss is the visit of Hearts on April 2.
