LONGFORD TOWN have been deducted nine points for failing to properly register Trinidad and Tobago national Avery John.

The deduction means Town drop from fourth to ninth in the Eircom League Premier Division.

The decision was made by an Eircom League board of control who met in Dublin yesterday.
