O’Neill gives assurance to Lennon

Celtic manager Martin O’Neill yesterday assured Neil Lennon and John Hartson he wants them to stay at Parkhead and will sit down with the pair soon to discuss new contracts.

Both players are in the final year of their current deals but a representative of Lennon, Robert Segal, hinted he could leave by saying: “From January 1 he can commit to anyone.”

But the Celtic boss has told the midfielder he wants him to finish his career there.
