Implementation Committee ‘open to every grade’

POSITIONS on the important Implementation Committee of the FAI are open to officers at every level of the game in the opinion of John Delaney, the man credited with driving the recommendations of the Genesis Report.

Mr. Delaney, Hon. Treasurer of the FAI, defended the decision to allocate half of the positions on the ten-man committee to the sitting officers of the FAI with the comment: "They were elected to do a job and it is their right as well as their responsibility to work on this."

There has been much speculation in newspaper reports on the attitude at grassroots level to the appointment of the five officers. Some reports would have you believe the football community was totally opposed to the officers playing any part in implementing the Genesis Report.
