Kelly leads Leeds back to Drogheda
This will be the Yorkshire men’s second visit to United Park in two years and is certain to please the huge Leeds United fan base here in Ireland. The game is expected to be a sell-out and details of this all-ticket glamour tie will be announced shortly. Leeds are expected to be captained by Drogheda man Gary Kelly, recently honoured after having played his 500th game for the club. The main beneficiary from the proceeds of the game will be the Gary Kelly Cancer Care Centre, Georges Street, Drogheda. Gary opened a cancer centre here in his home town in tribute to his sister who died from the disease.
The Leeds United and Republic of Ireland defender opened the €1.5m centre in memory of Mandy who died in 1998, at the age of 35, from breast cancer.
