O’Brien resigns as Waterford chairman

GER O’BRIEN, the chairman of Waterford United, has resigned from his post, citing “personal and business reasons” for his decision.

“The club is in a strong position today to move forward and continue its development and progress and Waterford United is in excellent shape today thanks to Ger O’Brien’s work over the past five years,” commented director Greg Pheasey.

“Ger’s departure marks the end of an important chapter in the club’s history but we have a game against Bohemians on Friday and our attention is now directed at that match. I would urge all the supporters to get behind the club and come to the RSC on Friday evening.”
