Liverpool open talks on Stelios move

LIVERPOOL have opened talks with Bolton in an attempt to bring Stelios Giannakopoulos to Anfield.

Bolton recently dismissed an offer for the 31-year-old Greek midfielder from Manchester City, and Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez is cautious about the chances of completing a deal before next Wednesday’s transfer deadline.

But Benitez has made a right-sided midfielder a priority and, after missing out on Luis Figo, Giannakopoulos fits the bill.
