CELTIC manager Martin O’Neill admits he signed a 12-month rolling contract with the Parkhead club in a bid to end speculation about his future for good.

The Hoops boss reckons he has been dogged by rumours of his departure from the east end of Glasgow almost as soon as he put pen to paper on his original three-year contract.

That speculation almost reached fever pitch when O'Neill failed to show at his squad's winter training camp in Florida last week, choosing instead to remain at the Barbados holiday home of major shareholder Dermot Desmond to hold contract talks.
