Cobh boss Hill resigns

COBH RAMBLERS player-manager Dave Hill has shocked the Cork club by stepping down.

Cobh boss Hill resigns

The 38-year old ex-Cork City and Bohemians player called a training session yesterday and informed the squad of his decision taken following the 1-0 FAI Carlsberg Cup defeat to Athlone Town on Friday.

It is understood Hill resigned due to a failure to achieve his goals after a season of under-achievement which has seen the Co Cork side struggle in ninth place in the First Division with just three wins from 21 games. Hill was with Cobh for three years and steered them to the promotion play-offs in 2003.
