Sven aiming for pole position

SVEN-GORAN ERIKSSON is looking for England to underline their World Cup credentials by producing a rousing performance against Poland tonight.

Eriksson will be without five of his leading players, with Steven Gerrard, Sol Campbell, Gary Neville and Ashley Cole injured, while David Beckham is suspended.

However, Ledley King, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Rio Ferdinand are set to return to the side, while Wayne Rooney is available again after his one-match ban.
