Woodward insists he has backroom role at Saints

CLIVE WOODWARD insists that he will not undermine Harry Redknapp at Southampton as the pair aim to get the club back to the Premiership.

Woodward, the Rugby World Cup winner, will work predominantly with the Saints’ younger players alongside academy director Huw Jennings, and has declared his delight at being given the chance to work for the club.

“There has been a lot said in the press implying I would be taking over the team but that is not my role,” Woodward said.
