FAI must take time to make right calls

THE key meeting for the FAI will be held on Friday in Dundalk when the first steps towards implementing the Genesis Report will be taken.

The important decisions as to how they go about recruiting a manager for the international team and a top executive to fill the new position of chief executive of the FAI will be taken. And the importance of securing the right person for each job cannot be over-stressed.

This is why it was a surprise that the statement of the president Milo Corcoran that it might take five years to implement the recommendations of the report caused such a hue and cry.
