Solskjaer seeks contract extension

OLE Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping to extend his Manchester United career beyond the end of his current contract in 2006.

After two major knee operations, Solskjaer is hoping to be back in action for the start of next season, by which time he will have spent virtually two years on the sidelines.

The popular Norwegian striker, who earned legendary status among the Old Trafford support for his last-gasp Champions League-winning goal against Bayern Munich in 1999, had originally intended next term would be his last before he headed home to Scandinavia.
