Heskey salvages ’Pool point

EMILE HESKEY’S last-ditch header salvaged a point for Liverpool in a superb Anfield clash with Arsenal.

The Gunners had outplayed Liverpool in the first half and led deservedly through Robert Pires, but they were pegged back by a John Arne Riise piledriver.

Dennis Bergkamp put Arsenal ahead again, and it looked like a Gunners win until Heskey’s last-minute bullet header. Arsenal started with the expected flow, pace and composure, with the ball fizzing from man to man.
