Finnan misses out on Liverpool trip

LIVERPOOL’S new recruit, full-back Steve Finnan has been ruled out of the club’s pre-season matches in Bangkok and Hong Kong.

Manager Gerard Houllier said he had decided the former Fulham defender should stay at home to recover from the hernia surgery he underwent in the close season.

“Steve will probably be the only senior player who won’t join us on the tour,” Houllier said.
