Ince fined by FA over post match comments

WOLVES captain Paul Ince has been fined £5,000 by the FA and warned about his future conduct.

The midfielder was charged with bringing the game into disrepute and failing to act in the best interests of the game following comments made in the aftermath of his sending-off during the 2-0 defeat to Spurs on the final day of last season.

Ince was dismissed by referee Steve Bennett in the 67th minute when the player received a second yellow card for fouling Jamie Redknapp.

Wolves have revealed that Ince plans to await official notification of the punishment before deciding whether to appeal the fine.

Meanwhile, Wolves manager Dave Jones is expecting striker Vio Ganea to make a speedy recovery from cruciate knee ligament surgery.

Ganea had suffered a small tear to the ligament while on the club's pre-season tour of Norway and is expected to go under the surgeon's knife next week.
