Swiss have Group 10 in the bag, says Albania’s Briegel

IRELAND and Russia should forget about automatic qualification from Euro 2004 qualifying Group 10 because Switzerland have already got the group sewn up, according to Albania coach Hans-Peter Briegel.

Briegel’s Albania side were undone 3-2 by Switzerland in Geneva on Wednesday as Koebi Kuhn’s Swiss maintained their unbeaten record and held on to top spot in the group.

The Swiss are two points clear of Brian Kerr’s Republic of Ireland in the table with Russia, who have a game in hand on both sides, five points adrift of top spot.
