Bayern stumble into last 16
Bayern had a number of chances in the first half before Dutch striker Roy Makaay gave the 2001 winners the lead on 42 minutes from a penalty after Anderlecht defender Michal Zewlakow had brought down Claudio Pizarro.
Anderlecht enjoyed sustained pressure on the Bayern goal in the second half, pacy forward Aruna Dindane twice going close in the 70th minute.
But the German champions held out, captain Oliver Kahn pulling off a fine save at the death to deny Iachtchouk and secure runners-up spot in the group behind Olympique Lyon.
Dynamo Kiev and Inter Milan exited the competition following a 1-1 draw in their final Group B match in Russia.
Inter defender Daniele Adani headed the Italians ahead in the 69th minute before Brazilian striker Diego Rincon equalised for Dynamo with four minutes remaining.
The draw, which left Inter level on points with Lokomotiv Moscow, was only good enough to salvage the Italians a UEFA Cup spot.
Lokomotiv, who had a superior head-to-head record against Inter, advanced to the Champions League knockout phase along with Arsenal, despite losing 2-0 at Highbury.
Ukrainian champions Dynamo Kiev finished bottom of the group.
AS Monaco qualified in first place in Group C despite a lacklustre 0-0 draw at AEK Athens.
With the home side already eliminated and Monaco already through to the knockout stage the visitors were content to defend in numbers.
Second-half goals from substitute Albert Luque and Walter Pandiani ensured Deportivo Coruna a place in the knockout stage despite a 3-2 defeat by PSV Eindhoven.
Strikes from John de Jong in the 14th minute and Arjen Robben just after halftime gave PSV hopes of qualifying but these faded when Luque’s 58th minute free kick spun into the bottom corner of Ronald Waterreus’s net.
Because of the League’s head-to-head results rules Guus Hiddink’s side then needed to win by three clear goals and that task proved too tough.
Pandiani rubbed salt into Dutch wounds seven minutes from time poking home a cross and de Jong’s injury time winner made no difference to the qualification outcome.
Juventus set a new Champions League record with a 7-0 drubbing of Olympiakos that assured them top spot in Group D.
The result was the biggest winning margin in Champions League history and meant the Greeks finished bottom of the group, failing to qualify for the consolation UEFA Cup spot.
David Trezeguet put Juve on their way in the 14th minute with a simple tap-in and Fabrizio Miccoli doubled the advantage five minutes later with a well-worked left-foot finish.
The game was over in the 25th minute when Trezeguet converted a pass from Miccoli and the little striker had a hand in Enzo Maresca’s goal which made it 4-0 three minutes later.
Second-half substitutes Marco Di Vaio and Alessandro Del Piero added to the tally after the break as the Italian champions hammered home their superiority before Marcelo Zalayeta set the record with a 79th-minute header.
Real Sociedad clinched the second spot in the Group with a nervy 1-1 draw at home to Galatasaray.
The Turks, needing a win to pip the Spanish side to the runners-up spot behind Juventus, took the lead after 26 minutes when Hakan Sukur converted from a Berkant Goktan pass.
Sociedad, fighting to keep their debut Champions League campaign alive, surged forward and eventually claimed the equaliser six minutes after the break through Oscar de Paula.
