Eric puts record straight

ASTON VILLA midfielder Eric Djemba-Djemba has rejected claims he blames manager David O’Leary for the club’s current lowly Premiership placing.

The Cameroonian held talks with O’Leary yesterday following remarks attributed to him during the past few days. And he stressed to the Villa boss he is happy to stay and fight for his place and his explanation has been accepted.

Djemba-Djemba said: “I did not say the manager needed to change anything. I wouldn’t say that sort of thing. I wouldn’t question his tactics. The manager was surprised because if he knows I have anything to say, I go straight to him and say it. This makes me look like a trouble maker and I don’t want that reputation.
