Chimbonda signs new deal

PASCAL CHIMBONDA has signed a new four-year contract with high-flying Wigan.

The deal will keep the 26-year-old, who only joined the Latics in the summer, at the JJB Stadium until the summer of 2009 and does not include a clause allowing him to leave if a rival club bids over a certain price.

The Guadeloupe-born player joined the Latics from Bastia and has been an ever-present in Wigan’s 11 Premiership matches this season.
