King cleared for England training
The Tottenham defender had missed the squad’s opening training session with a knee injury after playing for his club against Bolton on Monday. Following further assessment, the FA have confirmed the 25-year-old, who manager Sven-Goran Eriksson had earmarked for the midfield holding role, will now take part in today’s training session in Manchester.
Meanwhile, the England squad are set to net up to £300,000 a man if they lift next summer’s World Cup after reaching agreement in principle with the FA over their lucrative bonus package.
