King cleared for England training

LEDLEY KING’S hopes of taking his place in the England team to play Argentina in Geneva on Saturday have improved considerably after it was revealed he will train today.

King cleared for England training

The Tottenham defender had missed the squad’s opening training session with a knee injury after playing for his club against Bolton on Monday. Following further assessment, the FA have confirmed the 25-year-old, who manager Sven-Goran Eriksson had earmarked for the midfield holding role, will now take part in today’s training session in Manchester.

Meanwhile, the England squad are set to net up to £300,000 a man if they lift next summer’s World Cup after reaching agreement in principle with the FA over their lucrative bonus package.
