Jewell: Latics stars not for sale

WIGAN manager Paul Jewell has warned off hovering predators as the club consider the potential downside to their current success.

Jewell: Latics stars not for sale

Despite Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to Arsenal at the JJB Stadium ending Wigan’s six-match winning streak in the league, the Latics continue to ride high in second place.

Pascal Chimbonda signed a new contract just a few months after his summer arrival from Bastia, to close a clause in his old deal allowing him to leave if a potential poacher offers a certain figure.

Midfielder Jimmy Bullard has been linked with a transfer window move to Liverpool.

But Jewell is adamant the 27-year-old, who extended his club record run of consecutive league appearances to 121 at the weekend, is not for sale, along with the club’s other top stars.
