Saints make Wise decision

SOUTHAMPTON chairman Rupert Lowe has confirmed Dave Bassett and Dennis Wise will remain in charge of first-team affairs for Saturday’s Coca-Cola Championship trip to Norwich.

The duo have taken control on a temporary basis following Harry Redknapp’s return to Portsmouth last week and guided the Saints to a 1-0 victory over Luton on Sunday.

Lowe admitted the experienced duo are in contention for the permanent position but insisted that he will not be rushed into a decision.
