O’Neill could give bad boys the boot

CELTIC manager Martin O’Neill would not hesitate to hand out the severest of penalties to his players if he felt they had tarnished the club’s reputation, believes friend and former team-mate Mick McGuire.

And, according to English Professional Footballers’ Association deputy chief executive McGuire, that could even mean big-name departures from Parkhead are imminent.

McGuire knows O’Neill will be fuming after the players’ Christmas night out led to four stars being arrested. Bobby Petta, Joos Valgaeren and Johan Mjallby spent nearly 18 hours in a Newcastle jail before being released on bail on Wednesday.
