MICHAEL OWEN insists England will not be in awe of France in their opening Euro 2004 group game even though he admits they are the best team in the world.

Owen was effusive in his praise of Thierry Henry, describing the Frenchman as the world's leading striker, while also believing France's defence may also be unrivalled in the tournament.

The Liverpool striker nevertheless maintained England would have no fear ahead of Sunday's game in Lisbon and he has set his sights on proving he can match anything Henry can produce.
