Corinthians fall short in bid for Kleberson

BRAZILIAN club Corinthians have failed in a bid to sign Manchester United midfielder Kleberson, according to the player’s agent.

Marcos Antonio e Silva, Kleberson’s representative said: “Manchester didn’t accept MSI’s offer and there was not an agreement with the player for his salary.”

Kleberson, a World Cup winner in 2002, has been back home in South America recovering from an ankle injury.

He has yet to make an impact in the Premiership since joining United in August 2003 for £5.93m from Atletico Paranaense.

MSI reportedly offered £1.6m for Kleberson, who is expected to return to England today.
