Cameroon fined

FIFA fined Cameroon €128,660 and took six points from the national squad in the 2006 World Cup preliminaries for recently playing in a controversial one-piece kit.

World football’s governing body had allowed Cameroon to play in the strip during the group round of the African Nations Cup this year, but the team continued to use the body-suits during the quarter-finals, it said.

Cameroon’s sponsors Puma, who also supply Egypt and Tunisia, unveiled the controversial body-suits at the Nations Cup in January.
