Zenden in quit threat

MIDDLESBROUGH midfielder Boudewijn Zenden has warned the club to significantly improve their current contract offer or he will quit the Riverside.

Boro boss Steve McClaren’s hopes of keeping the Holland international on Teesside were boosted when the club clinched a place in next season’s UEFA Cup with their seventh-placed finish in the Premiership.

Zenden had long made it clear he would wait until the end of the season before making a decision on his future, in particular to see if Boro returned to Europe following their exploits last season.
