Kromkamp is Villa target

Aston Villa manager David O’Leary is showing an interest in Dutch international full-back Jan Kromkamp - in case talks over a new contract with Mark Delaney break down.

Villa have watched 24-year-old Kromkamp - also a target for Valencia - in action on several occasions for AZ Alkmaar and in last week’s friendly international with England at Villa Park.

O’Leary was first alerted to the talents of Kromkamp when he played against Villa in a pre-season friendly in August.
