Petrov will stay, says agent

Stilian Petrov’s agent is more than willing to sit down with Celtic later in the year to discuss extending the midfielder’s current contract.

The 25-year-old Bulgaria captain has less than two years left to run on his present deal but once again illustrated his value to the Glasgow giants by inspiring his team-mates to a 3-0 home victory over Dundee on Wednesday last night.

He has become a firm favourite with manager Martin O’Neill and the supporters and the feeling is mutual, according to Petrov’s representative.
