Petrov will stay, says agent
The 25-year-old Bulgaria captain has less than two years left to run on his present deal but once again illustrated his value to the Glasgow giants by inspiring his team-mates to a 3-0 home victory over Dundee on Wednesday last night.
He has become a firm favourite with manager Martin O’Neill and the supporters and the feeling is mutual, according to Petrov’s representative.
Latchezar Tanev said: “If Celtic really want to keep the player and continue to show that, then he will stay with them. If they come to me later in the year, say in September, and want to speak then I would have no problem with that.”
