Milan keepers chose penalty takers

AC MILAN coach Carlo Ancelotti has said his goalkeepers were responsible for choosing the penalty takers in last month’s Champions League final against Liverpool.

Despite months of practice, the Rossoneri came unstuck on the day as Liverpool emerged victorious 3-2 on spot-kicks after a pulsating 3-3 draw after 120 minutes.

“I had asked our keepers to make up the list as they are used to facing our shooters in training. Unfortunately, our three specialists missed.” But Ancelotti believes by that time Milan had already lost the psychological battle.
