Eviston resigns in wake of Collins suspension

TERRY EVISTON has resigned as assistant manager of Shamrock Rovers.

His decision follows the club’s decision to place manager Roddy Collins on what they today called a “short leave of absence.”

Former ‘keeper Alan O’Neill takes over as a special advisor in a temporary capacity ahead of tonight’s eircom League Premier Division match against UCD at Belfield Park.

The Hoops play the first leg of their eircom League relegation play-off against either Dublin City or Cobh Ramblers next Tuesday, with the second leg to follow tomorrow week.
