Capello fancies England role

JUVENTUS coach Fabio Capello insists taking charge of the England national team is his ambition after he quits managing at club level.

Capello has been one of the names touted as replacing Sven-Goran Eriksson this summer.

“In the next three years I am thinking of stopping as a club coach,” he declared. “And then I would like for a dream I have always had inside me to come true - to manage England.”

Portugal manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has admitted speaking to the FA about succeeding Eriksson.

The 57-year-old Brazilian said yesterday: “I had an informal meeting with the English federation. It is great my work and career has been recognised.

“Taking this job would be nothing to do with money. I have lots of ambition.”
