Canaries swoop for Clinton

CLINTON MORRISON is set to launch his assault on France from a new base in Norwich, after the Championship side yesterday agreed a fee in the region of £2 million (€2.9m) with Birmingham City for the striker.

Canaries swoop for Clinton

Blues boss Steve Bruce confirmed that, the morning after he had played in the friendly against Italy at Lansdowne Road, Morrison flew from Dublin to Stansted and then straight on to Norwich for talks with the Canaries. Those talks were continuing last night.

Said the Birmingham manager: "It was one of those situations where, with a year to run on his contract, we were facing the prospect of losing him on a Bosman. Clinton had become a little frustrated by not playing. I understand that so it was in the best interests of both parties that he should move."
