Jarosik’s late rocket lifts Bruce’s blues
It was rough justice on Norwich who cancelled out Jermaine Pennant’s early goal via an own goal from Martin Taylor although Mikael Forssell did miss a penalty.
Birmingham were given the perfect start by Pennant after five minutes when his powerful free-kick from 30 yards took a deflection off the defensive wall and looped past Robert Green into the roof of the net.
Five minutes before half-time Norwich equalised when a slip by Matthew Upson let in Dean Ashton and his shot from a narrow angle was deflected by Taylor past Vaesen.
Forssell had the chance to put Blues back in front from the penalty spot early in the second half, but he sent his spot-kick several yards wide.
Taylor could have won the game for Birmingham but he sent his shot straight at Green before Jarosik’s late decider four minutes from time which beat Green via the crossbar.
