Khizanishvili cut-price deal leaves Dundee seething

DUNDEE yesterday accused Rangers of trying to “buy a Rolls Royce for the price of a Lada” after confirming that Georgia international defender Zura Khizanishvili was finally on his way to Ibrox.

Khizanishvili cut-price deal leaves Dundee seething

The 21-year-old underwent his medical and sealed his deal to the Scottish treble winners yesterday.

But Dundee are seething with the sub-£100,000 compensation figure Rangers have offered the Dens Park club.

And if the Ibrox club fails to increase its initial offer substantially, Dundee are threatening to take the matter to a tribunal.

Although the highly-rated youngster is out of contract, UEFA’s new guidelines stipulate that the buyer must pay the smaller club compensation to protect not just the club but the player as well.

Dundee are reluctant to take the matter further, but they are confident that if it was to go that far they would be victorious and pocket substantially more from the transfer.
