Jol backs Gunners’ spot of farce

TOTTENHAM coach Martin Jol has lauded Arsenal’s stars for their hilarious penalty cock-up against Manchester City at Highbury.

But instead of joining in the with the general laughter over the incident, the Spurs coach, whose side take on Arsenal in the North London derby at White Hart Lane tomorrow, said he was impressed by the creative thinking of the players involved.

"It was very creative thinking," he said. "But when you saw Holland's Johan Cruyff do the same thing, and I saw it a thousand times, he laid the ball off with the inside of the foot and not with the studs.
