Smith goal European Championship

ALAN SMITH has been told a few more goals for Leeds this season should seal his place at the European Championships.

Since recently reverting to his customary role in attack, Smith has responded by scoring two goals in the last two matches crowned by his equalising header in Saturday's vital 1-1 draw at Manchester United. Leeds United caretaker boss Eddie Gray is convinced Smith will be on the plane to Portugal if he continues to play as he did at United and in the 4-1 victory over Wolves earlier this month.

"He's back up front now playing where he likes to play, and that's helped him," said Gray.
