Fewer players will manage: Fergie

ALEX FERGUSON believes many top players are unlikely to pursue a career in coaching and management — because they can afford to retire.

The manager has witnessed at first hand a sea change in the game since the Premier League was formed with young players able to become financially set up for life. "Many of them are very wealthy men and have got a different angle on how they view their life because of the money," he said.

"It is completely different from when I started as a manager; not a heavier workload, though, because that has always been high.
