Everton still looking up, says Moyes

EVERTON manager David Moyes yesterday challenged his squad to make sure all their hard work so far this season does not go to waste.

The fourth-placed Toffees are on course for Champions League qualification if they can maintain their lofty perch for the rest of the season.

They take on struggling Norwich at Goodison Park tonight and, when asked if he fears the challenge of fifth-placed neighbours Liverpool throughout the rest of the campaign, the Scot insisted Everton would merely continue to concentrate their efforts on catching those teams above them.

“I don’t know why you mention Liverpool,” said Moyes. “We are looking at the top teams and trying to catch them rather than looking at the teams behind us. Our job is to try to overtake Manchester United,” he said.
