New-look Blades cut through Lions

SHEFFIELD UNITED’S new-look attack seized their opportunity to impress against Millwall and increase the Blades’ advantage at the top of the Coca-Cola Championship last night.

Neil Warnock paired Vincent Pericard and Danny Webber in attack - resting Neil Shipperley and Steve Kabba - and the duo responded with first-half goals at the New Den.

Alan Quinn came on a substitute in the second half and found the top corner before Webber wrapped up the 4-0 victory.

Luton enhanced their promotion credentials by giving Norwich a masterclass in finishing at Kenilworth Road.

Joe Ledley put the home side one up after 31 minutes. The visitors levelled after 62 minutes when Tyrone Mears finished from close range, but Koumas restored the lead with 10 minutes left. Chris Sedgwick levelled in the dying moments.

Wolves took an early lead through Kenny Miller against Derby, but Mounir El Hamdaoui struck early in the second half to secure a 1-1 draw at Molineux.

Ipswich’s promotion challenge was dented after a 2-2 draw against Coventry at Portman Road, while Stoke halted a run of poor form by recording a 2-0 win against Crewe.
