Troussier for Marseille

PHILIPPE TROUSSIER is set to be appointed the new first-team coach of French giants Marseille.

The 49-year-old former Japan and Nigeria boss had been linked with the Scotland and Portsmouth vacancies.

Meanwhile, Serie A star Jonathan Bachini was yesterday suspended for nine months after testing positive for cocaine after a league match. His club, Brescia, now intend to sack the midfielder, who said he never knowingly took the banned substance.
