Relaxed Rooney ready for tough Toffees reception

WAYNE ROONEY will be in a relaxed mood ahead of his first return to Everton at the weekend.

The Manchester United striker is in a rich vein of form and was voted man of the match for his performance in last weekend’s derby win over Manchester City.

With the FA Cup fifth round tie next on the horizon, the teenager will be hoping to face the crowd that once adored him despite the possible availability of Louis Saha, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Alan Smith.

The home fans are sure to give the youngster a hot reception. “I just laugh at it,” said Rooney.

“It is just fans being football fans and I would do the same if I was still in the crowd. I know when I go back to play Everton,I will get the same stuff shouted at me. It happens - that’s football.”
