Refs may protest Lennon ban

SCOTTISH referees could be heading for industrial action in the wake of the three-match suspension handed out to Celtic captain Neil Lennon.

The former Northern Ireland international escaped a lengthy suspension from the Scottish Football Association after his ugly clash with referee Stuart Dougal at Ibrox on August 20.

The 34-year-old was dismissed by the match official after the end of the Hoops’ 3-1 defeat by Rangers but the midfielder then aggressively challenged Dougal.
