William Gallas put Chelsea ahead early on from close-range and after David Beckham levelled, a superb 20-yard strike by Boudewijn Zenden put the home side back in front.

That was until Giggs struck an equaliser with 24 minutes left after United were controversially denied a penalty as keeper Carlo Cudicini tangled with Paul Scholes.
